Opinion on Canon 60D?

What is your opinion on the Canon 60D for a beginner? I'm taking photography and film in September for college.

    Good camera. Bigger viewfinder image than entry level and that is very helpful for beginners needing to learn how to focus and crop accurately. All of these DSLRs have Auto modes and you can switch out of them to semi-auto and manual at your own pace.

    its a good camera but for a beginner I would buy the cheaper 600/650 and use the change to buy a flash/tripod/lens

    If that's what you like, use it. I shoot Nikons, myself, but that's me.
