What do I need to apply for?

I don't want to use my social security number when applying for a loan or to check my credit, can I use another number or can I apply for another number?

    Of course not.

    Your social security number is linked to your identity. You can't apply for another number. You only get one for your lifetime.

    If you don't want to use your social security number to apply for a loan - then don't apply for a loan.

    your local loan shark will probably work that deal for you but I don't recommend that.

    if you want to borrow money from an institution or a business then you'll have to supply your social security number & submit to a credit check..

    ooo, you could apply to the IRS for a taxpayer ID but I don't know how long that would take & you'd still have to submit to a credit check & they would still want your social security number for the credit check since your tax payer ID would be clean w/ no credit history.

    the only legal way is to use your own information other than that it is fraud and jailable.
