Exhaust not getting hot?
Well my tail pipe on my 89 Crx with a B16 swap(intake, header, exhaust, chipped ecu, and a few other mods not worth mentioning as they don't pertain to my issue) and my tail pipe inst getting hot at all. I can literally put my entire hand on it for 5 minutes and it doesn't get hot. I am also getting water shooting out of it.It starts to make puddles. I think it is condensation from the pipe not getting hot enough to burn the excess water away. I don't think it is a blown head gasket as my car doesn't overheat. So any reasons why it is not heating up to the correct temperature? I can't spot any exhaust leaks, but could possibly have one as I am missing 1 of 9 header bolts.
It actually starts to do it once warmed up. I normally deal with my own cars, but this is just mind boggling to me.
No egr valve. Still OBD0.
Also I know it is not a head gasket issue, my oil is not "milk shakey"

Try changing all your gaskets they may be leaking. I think if it upgraded it might be ceramic coated to reduce heat and is not as restricted. Hey message me on here so we can talk cars you seem like you have done alot and I like good opinions from people that like Hondas

All the header polts must be put on and torqued correctly so the exhaust gasket doesn't blow. This isn't why the exhaust pipe doesn't get hot. The water from condensation should come out when the engine is cold, but cease after the *engine* gets hot. There still could be some water coming out as a normal combustion product. After the engine gets to operating temperature i wouldn't expect more than a drop every so often, not a pouring stream. Honda engines do run very clean and water is a normal exhaust product. Keep an eye on your coolant level just to make certain it isn't migrating through the combustion chambers. After a few weeks if the coolant level doesn't go down, rest easy.
Some engineer named Singh configured a combustion chamber with special grooves and noticed after that the exhaust temberature went down a significan amount and economy increased. The article about this was in Popular Mechanics magazine a few years ago and subsequently no further thing was written about that in Pop Mech. You could research "Current Contents" at the library if you need to see th earticle or an abstract of it. Perhaps your mods had the same effect on your engine as Mr. Singh's grooves.

Your tail pipe is cold because all the exhaust heat is being lost in the tube header.I bet the header is hot.The water is a normal byproduct of combustion and is condensing in the cold pipe. You make about 3 gallons of water vapor for every 10 gallons of gas you burn.O2+a hydrocarbon=CO2+H2O.

in my opinion if your exhaust runs hot all the way to the rear, its very restrictive.
