Blind Lemon Jefferson wrote his version of 'Easy Rider Blues' in 1926/27.

It was originally written for Vaudeville by Composer Shelton Brooks in 1913.

His title was 'I Wonder Where My Easy Rider's Gone'.

In 1915 W.C.Handy wrote an answer song to this called 'Yellow Dog Rag'. He retitled and re-released it in 1919 as 'Yellow Dog Blues', (refers to the local name for the Yazoo Delta Rail Road).

The lyrics and melody of both of these show up in post 1920's renditions of the song.

Note famous versions by Ma Rainey 1924 (See See Rider), Mae West 1933 (She Done Him Wrong), Lead Belly (early 1940's), also Big Bill Broonzy, Lightnin Hopkins, and many others.
