when and how was the present Polish spelling system introduced?
Most current national alphabets were standardized by the early printers. Was this the case with Polish, and if not, then from when does the current system date? When was the language itself standardized?
Thanks, but I am not interested so much in modern modifications but rather when the current basic pattern (mainly the predominance of digraphs instead of diacritics as in Czech) was established.

It looks as if the major modern reform took place in 1936, with a minor set of reforms in 1956.
