What is Jet Blue like as an airline? Fares are low but are there any extras to pay?

Jet Blue has fewer pay extras than the larger major airlines. They do not charge for your first bag. Certain snacks/drinks are free - other food/alcohol you will need to pay for but all airlines charge for that now. Headphones - which all charge now, but you keep them. So just bring your own. You can view free direct TV, but will need to pay for premium movies.

Nicer more business like seating with a bit more room than your typical major airline.

I'd call or check their website if there is something specific you are looking for - but they aren't like those ultra cheap airlines where they nickel and dime you - they actually have fewer extra charges than United/American/Delta.

Jet Blue is one of my favorites, although it's not always that "low fare" anymore. Every airline charges for "extras" these days, although Southwest doesn't charge for up to TWO checked bags and they don't charge change fees - AND, they have a great attitude!

I remember I had to pay extra for headsets to watch a movie but don't remember much else being charged. I didn't have a meal but they passed out free snacks. Alcohol was extra charge. The baggage was included up to a certain amount (unless they changed this). I had a big suitcase I checked in and it didn't cost extra. It should say on their website any baggage fees. I remember I was pretty happy with my flights. I took 4 flights total a couple years ago.

They're great. Excellent service. friendly staff, etc. They haven't forgotten the motto: "The customer is always right". MUCH, MUCH better than American or Delta.
