does anyone keep records of house plans?
Is there anyone who might have the plans that my house was built from? The registrar of deeds seems to only record who has owned it.
I'm trying to figure out the plumbing of the house (how the pipes run), but someone added a plaster ceiling in the basement, so I can't see the pipes in many places. I don't want to tear that down or poke a lot of holes in it.
Thanks.

No, no one will have them and even if they did they will not contain the location of the pipes. for residential single family homes all that is required is an isometric of the plumbing and the actual pipe location is determined on site by the plumber and builder and not recorded anywhere

Nope, no one does that for older houses. In some cases for new houses the plans are on file at the city or county permit department, but not always. About the only thing you can do is figure out where the areas above are that have pipes and just sort of draw a line between them taking the shortest path and that is usually where the pipes will be.

I have a small ranch in southern NM where I drive approximately 20000 miles per year with out ever being on a public road. They want to tax those miles! When pigs sing and fly. The bastards get in my back pocket way to much as it is and do nothing to stop the illegal alien invasion that is destroying my range land and out buildings. Hell no the Cabinet does not free lance. They float the trial balloons so the President catches less flack if the public hates an idea. Where do some of the people get an education? Off the back of cereal boxes? Lord God above us Please watch out for the people of the USA! It is going to be a long 4 years.

If the Planning and Building Department of your area has good archives, you may be able to find them there as long as permits were taken out for work and changes to the structure.
