Tattoos, fading and sun block?

I have a beautiful new tattoo (11/12) on my left biceps-I'm single and get driver's tan in the summer. Will sunblock keep the colors from fading? Or do I need to cover it?

Covering it would be best, but if you're going to leave it exposed, definitely put on a sunblock of at least SPF 30. Exposed tattoos fade way faster than covered ones.

Limit your tattoos sun exposure time if you can. Weeks old means its still healing and it could fade anyway. The sunblock will help but don't just let the sun beat down on it if you can help it. -It will but don't push it. Cover it for a bit every now and then by going in the shade and don't go swimming. I was told not to water log my tattoo until the scabs were all gone and the skin was back to normal. Mine is hard to cover too some times. It's on the side of my ankle so the sun hits it in shorts and sandals but I'm sure to be careful.
