Considering his performance last year, should I try and draft Albert Pujols?

He did worse than what he did the last year when he played for my team, the Cardinals, but I dunno.

Trout, Braun, Miggy have to be top 3..depends where you're getting him. He'll still be a very good 1B and much better then last..but don't overdraft him either based off of the name

I wouldn't draft a first baseman in the first 3 rounds. I just did a mock draft yesterday and immediately regerted drafting Pujols in the first round. There is an abudance of great first basemen this season. Better you go for another position than 1st base.

I have a slight problem with his toughness, and coming off surgery into spring training with an already poor track record for starting strong I'll be cautious. I'm unsure of what your draft position is, but there are strong options throughout the first round. You may scoop up someone else, and then trade for Albert in mid May, when his owner is pissed and reap the rewards the rest of the year ;o)

He is, at worst, an early second round pick. 1B is a loaded position, but everybody drafts them early. I like that he actually steals a few bases and scores runs unlike the phat boys.

    Good luck.

  • If he is there you have to take him. I think he will bounce back somewhat. Last year was a down year as he struggled early on to a new league and new pitchers but once he figured it out he was damn good.
