Physics question finding acceleration and time?

The fastest measured pitched baseball left the pitcher's hand at a speed of 47.0m/s . If the pitcher was in contact with the ball over a distance of 1.50 m and produced constant acceleration, (a) what acceleration did he give the ball, and (b) how much time did it take him to pitch it?

    (a) Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad ===> 47^2 = 0 + 2a(1.5) ===> a = 736 m/s^2

    (b) a = (Vf - Vi)/t ====> 736 = (47 - 0) / t ===> t = 0.06 s

    b) make sure for part B you use 2 significant figures! So t = .064s :)
