Is there any way to treat 'Angel Wing' in ducks?
Hi, I have a couple of Muscovy ducks that have developed 'Angel Wing'. They are about 2 1/2 months old. I heard that if you wrap the wings so they are around their bodies that may fix it. Does that work? and if it does then how long do I keep it raped?
I have already fixed their diet to one with less protein in it and have started feeding them a more natural diet. This is my first batch of ducklings so I am no master at any of this by any means so any advise would help.
Also, in your opinion what is the best brand of feed for these ducks. I thought I had a good one but obviously that wasn't the case.
Thanks!

It's not possible to fix things for adult ducks, but you might be able to cure it in your youngsters, with luck. See this article http://poultrykeeper.com/external-problems/angel-w...
You are obviously aware of the dietary problems that have caused this. I would advise feeding wheat rather than pellets, especially as they are growing and need lower protein. They like it soaked in a bucket of water and covering the wheat with water encourages them to dabble for it. This helps them to preen and get their oil grands working well. More advice on Poutrykeeper, the site I recommended, and you can join Poultrykeeper Forum as well here http://poultrykeeperforum.com/index.php?sid=42443c... where there are some very experienced duck keepers.
