Is there any easy and free online typing/keyboarding tutorials?
The one class I regret never having taken in high school is typing. Of course that was before computers.
:)
Boy was I ever stupid, I didn't think I would ever want to be somebodies "secretary"
I type "OK" with the 2-3 finger hunt and peck method, but I have to look at the keys.

There are a lot of ones to be found on YouTube. All you have to do is do a search for typing and you will be provided with a lot of options.

There are of course a lot of other sites that provide free courses. One thing to keep in mind when choosing one is to make sure before you start, that the keyboard that they are using in the course is the same one that you have on your computer/laptop. Different countries have subtle differences in the way that the keys are laid out. I discovered the hard way; that while the alphabet keys were the exact same position, all the other signs and symbols were wildly different. So in the end I gave up and went and bought a new book. Let me tell you, that changing a course in the middle of it is a real nuisance.
This one has the option of choosing with keyboard that your country uses, which can make a big difference.
This is a basic one.
Another little tip that I will let you in on that makes it easier to learn; is the importance of making it a fun thing to do. Nowadays there are a lot of games that you can play that are designed to make practice fun, so make sure that you try them all out to see which one suits the best. There are games build in to different courses usually nowadays.
Someone once told me to type a paragraph every night before going to bed. She said to write about something funny or interesting that happened to you during the course of the day; and write it so that you can include it in a letter in the future. I took her advice, and when the time to send Christmas letters and cards came around I was ready. All I had to do was type a short paragraph at the start and end of each letter to a friend to personalise it; and then copy and paste all that I had typed during the year into the middle of it. I got a lot of amused reactions to the letters; as one put it in a return letter: “It took me all Christmas to read it; it isn’t everyday that someone sends you a forty-one page letter!” So make the learning fun and you will learn faster and easier. Keep that in mind when checking out all the possible courses on YouTube and the links above.
Hope this helps.
