What type of comments do you get on your tattoos and piercings?

I have many tattoos and regularly get positive comments. I have recently had some medical issues and received many favorable comments and only one somewhat negative. I was asked, "Why would someone want so many tattoos on their body forever?" Many, many positives and only one slightly negative. I hope others are experiencing this positive feedback.

I don't have many facial piercings (just 2) anymore but I do have stretched ear lobes and many tattoos. I always get the "You must have hated the way you looked before" "How are you going to look when your 80?" "Are your ear lobes going to shrink up?" But along with these I usually get comments on how good I look with tattoos and that they suit me and how well done they are. I also get questions about individual tattoos (I.e there meaning, how much it hurt, how old was I.) So I do get some positive feedback along with the negatives :)

Most people aren't impressed, or they compliment it because they feel they have to, I know my tastes are different and what I like, not everyone likes. I got a really negative comment in a hospital as well, I was about to give birth when a nurse came over to me and asked if I was aware of the cancer risks due to my tattoo. She never gave me prevention or early detection tips, just rambled on on how I shouldn't have gotten it. Why do that when I already have it??? What was she trying to achieve from that comment?
