Is laughter a danger to christianity?

I was watching "The Name of the Rose" when I heard this:

Can we laugh at God? The world would relapse into chaos! Therefore, I seal that which was not to be said.

Laughter is a great weapon
against a lot of things.

Nothing can stand for long
against the onslaught of laughter.

Nothing funny about book burning though,
of which Christianity has a long history..
