why is my computer not letting me burn cd's or dvd's?

i have windows 7. i use to burn cd's and dvd's in the past and now for some odd reason, i insert a blank cd or dvd and no options appear (as it use to in the past). when i go to My Computer, all that shows up is the BD-ROM Drive (F:). From what ive read, its suppose to be a Blue Ray drive, but their only readable, not to burn.

What on earth can i do to change it how it was before, am i missing some extra drive to burn cd's or dvd's?? and what could have happened??

Helllppp!! this is driving me a little nuts!

    1. Did you just change to windows 7? -OR-

    2. Did you just change your CD/DVD/BD drive(the hardware)?

If '1', go to Control Panel>Hardware and Devices>Autoplay. There's settings there for you to tinker with.

If '2', check if your F drive does indeed can burn CD/DVD/BD. If it can, it should states somewhere on the drive itself or the manual that the drive includes CD-RW/DVD-RW/BD-RW something like that.

Does your CD player have a disk burner included. Some of them don't and to get them to burn cd's you need to install a different CD player.
