What is sepsis?
An infectious source plus systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS: high or low WBC count, tachycardia, tachypnea, fever).
The answer then would be B, a positive urine culture indicates the presence of infection and that patient is therefore at risk for developing sepsis.
