What do women from other countries eat while pregnant?
I mean for women experiencing nausea or morning sickness. I know at least here in the United States that we suggest bland foods will stay down better and cause less indigestion. I'm curious what women from foreign countries do when the majority of their traditional diet is well known for being spicey. Such as women from India, Thailand, or Mexico? Just eat allot of rice? There has to be a variety of stuff they eat. And I'm guessing if you're pregnant that regardless of what country you live in you're probably not reaching for the cayenne and jalapeños unless you're trying to induce labor. If you're trying to avoid vomiting what do you stuff your face with?

Well Women in countries that eat very spicy foods are accustomed to them. They start kids on spicy food at around 2 yrs (varies) in India, so by the time they're adults spicy food is normal to them.
It's hard in countries like India and Mexico to NOT have spicy food because the lack of hygiene and the heat cause a lot of food poisoning, and chillies are used to try and kill that bacteria.
Also, in pregnancy in the West, Sushi is not reccomended, but in Japan is perfectly okay to eat. The hygiene practises around sushi in Japan are a lot more thorough than in the west, because they have a better idea of raw fish safety and cold rice safety etc.
