What field of Psychology is this?

I am interested in learning and working on how the mind works. Not necessarily the chemistry but the actual thought process the human mind uses. I want to study on this particularly but I'm not sure the exact field this area is called. Just to learn more on why we do what we do and think what we think and why we do so at certain times.

Yes, agreed with the above answer. Cognitive behavioral psychology or Cognitive Science.

You would likely major in psychology with an emphasis on the cognitive branch and research.

Cognitive behaviour. Not sure there is an actual degree or course on Cognitive behaviour but there are a ton of books out there. If you need to know anymore just drop me a message. Currently studying Psychology.
