Trying to access security measures from system preferences on a Mac?

Would like to set up security measures (FileVault) on a Mac, but it requires a user account password?? Where can I find this? If I set one up 3 years ago when I bought this computer, I have no recollection of it now.

Paul, If I were you, I would call the Geek Squad and see if they can help you. I have a Mac but I know my password from a few years ago when I bought it. It's always good to have a notebook with that kind of information in it ... in case you forget.

    Paul,

It is the same password you use to log into your Mac or to okay any upgrades. It should be a pretty familiar one.

    Cheers,
