Can I cash a tax refund check or do I have to make a direct deposit into my bank account?
If I can cash it, can it be done at any bank?

When and if you do have a bank account you should NOT have any problem cashing the United States Treasury Department refund check at your bank at that time in your life.
Other places will have charges when you can find a place that will be able to cash it for you at that time in your life.

In Canada we can cash our cheques in to the bank for either cash, or directly into our bank account. Some stores will cash the cheque but it depends on the amount of the cheque and how much they are able to cash for you.
