Who went to the midnight showing of 'The Host'?

This is a question for the people who have also read the book. Is the movie really different from the book? The host is one of my favorite books so I wanted to know if the movie changes it a lot or if it was just an over all good or bad movie.

Thanks!

There are a lot of changes in the movie, including some characters who do not appear such as Walter, Sharon and Sunny. However, considering they had to condense a 600+ page novel into a 125 minute movie, some things had to go. Nothing important to the plot of the book was left out, though everything seemed to move very quickly, such as Ian and Wanda's relationship. I also think they tried to make the story more guy-friendly, which seems to have worked since I saw a couple of guys at the opening who came alone. All in all, I would rate the movie a B.
