The park i am in provides cable but with no DVR is there something I can get so I can record shows?
They only provide cable with no DVR and I want to be able to tape shows when I'm not around. Is there something I can get so I can tape shows?

If your cable is scrambled/requires a box, you would have to program it to always record from the same source/channel, so you would have to leave the cable box on the channel you want to record.
But if your cable is unscrambled/doesn't use a box, then you can program it to record any channel at any time.

Unless you find it at a garage sale or Craigslist, you will have to buy a combo unit DVD/VCR recorder. Not a problem with taping shows on cable or satellite. You just need the right cables. I found several models at Best Buy. Just make sure when you are buying that it says that it RECORDS and not just plays.
I agree with Pearls - to record, it has to be on the channel that you want to record. You can't record on one channel and watch another at the same time.

Tape? Not easily, VCR's don't have digital tuners. Why can't you just pay for a DVR from your cable provider?
