Ps3 Sony Headset (USB Connected) MIC not working?

So about two months ago I got the generic headset for my Ps3, the sony one that is the USB connected one and it was working fine. Even a few days ago it was great. However today, it's not working well anymore. I can hear people talking so the headphone part of it is fine, however when I talk into it no one can hear me and my playstation doesn't show that it's picking up my voice. Help please?

    go to accessory settings, then audio device settings and see that both audio input and output are to the headset, if they are then im stumped :s hope it helps
