Faster than light? Please explain?

In theory, FTL is not possible, the speed of light being the maximum speed an object(carrying information) can reach. So i assume that's true. But scientists measured the speed of light on earth, right ? So they got 300k km/s, from point A to B, both points situated on the earth's surface. But since the earth is moving, wasn't the light travelling faster or slower in relation to the sun, or the moon ??

Update:

Nope. The speed of light is a Universal constant. Physics does not work if it is not.

And people said the earth is flat...

the speed of light is like the speed of my car, what ever the speed it's going is the speed. if you do a little research you will find the speed of light has been measured at different speeds over the past hundred or so years. But the speed of light isn't the cosmic speed limit, we just haven't found anything fast yet. There have been several theories regarding fast than light but none have been proven. yet.
