Help with Math Problem, it's hard & confusing?
I'm working on some problems and stumbled on number 3, I am completely lost and have no clue what to do or how to solve it. I need help on how to set the problem up and guidance in steps on how to solve them. I am not just looking for the answers because they are in the back of the book, no point in looking up the answer if I can't see how to set it up and solve it.
thanks for the help and time, I appreciate it very much ^__^

to make life a little easier, I would find AREAS first {big area minus little area)
^^^ you probably need to do this by partial pieces - which you add together
because then you know you multiply by .6cm (thickness aka height) and then by 1000 units.
Pick realistic measurements that are easy to deal with
use graph paper to see if your answers are close, if necessary

First a Area= sqrt(3)/4 a^2 so volume on 1000 pcs 600cm thick slice each to .6 cm this is a equilateral triangle.
b is 2 equilateral triangles so sqrt(3)/2 a^2
c I would make a sqare side length rstu.
Ok without actual sides and such not really able to give detail. I dont know how to help more

You need to find the volume of the entire object first and then subtract the volume of the inner shape. Volume is length (width)(height). In the problem it gives you the width as .6cm. Now you need 1000 of each one so you'll need to multiply your end result for one of them by 1000.
I hope this helped!
