Can someone help me with this philosophy question?

I have to answer the question how to determine if something is real and not real when sleeping. the quote i have to use is this "Thus, I am now seeing light, hearing a noise, feeling heat. These objects are unreal, for I am asleep; but at least I seem to see, to hear, to be warmed. This cannot be unreal; and this is what is properly called my sensations; further, sensation, precisely so regarded, is nothing but and act of consciousness”

    - All manifestation of physical attributes, including sensations, are as unreal as a photograph. All emotions are real.

Like a photograph, physical attributes in a dream are flat, "digital", and fail to be consistent with true physical presence.

As 'Houston We Have A Problem' said, It's not the images in your dream that are "real" what is "real" is the reactions those images cause in you. Everything we experience, even in the supposedly "real" physical world, is but the interpretation of our senses. What you see, what you hear, what you taste, what you feel, all of it, is but the interpretation that your mind gives to the many stimulations that come to you. Would you say a word is "unreal"? Would you say a thought is "unreal"? You wouldn't right. Everything that happens, weather physical, or a dream, is but information. Information in different shapes, forms, and media, information that can be interpreted differently by each individual. So It's not the dream, or the "real" life experience, that is in fact real... The interpretation you give them is. How it makes you FEEL, how do you experience the stimulus, that is the REAL part. We're but minds my friend. So then again, how is it that you can tell what is real in a dream?

i think our dreams are influenced by things htat happen to us in real life, but they can also occur spontaneously, as long as we have had the sensation beofre

It is real is you are real because you think it is real..if you think you exist, therefore it exists..
