How do you delete questions off yahoo answers?

I found that once questions have been resolved or in the voting stage that I can no longer erase questions I have asked on the site. It becomes Yahoo property.

Is it possible I could email Yahoo about taking down certain questions I've asked in the past? I heard that you can send an email asking them to delete certain questions if you provide links. But I'm unsure if this is true or not.

Also some questions on my list have been grayed out due to YA taking them down, but are still visable on my page. Can these be erased off the list or are they permanent?

The last first, I believe after the 7 days they are removed when you can't appeal any more, and on the other.

Write to the Answers team and request they be removed.

Under certain circumstances the Answers team will ‘consider’ deleting questions or answers if you have posted private information like your name and address etc.

    Write to: y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

    Copy and paste the address.

You can only delete open questions yourself via the Edit button.

Resolved questions with a best answer and undecided questions in voting cannot be deleted by users and go into a database that can be used for searching. They can only be deleted by Yahoo!.

The deletion of resolved questions with a best answer and the deletion of undecided questions can only be done by Yahoo! if you contact them by email and the questions must be of a very personal nature that discloses some very personal details that are causing you a lot of anguish and perhaps a lot of embarrassment as well.

The relevant email addresses are y_answrs_team@yahoo.com and (in Australia) y_answrs_team_au@yahoo.com.au

The missing "e" in "answrs" above is intended.

If enough people report resolved questions or undecided questions in voting they will be deleted by Yahoo!.

Unfortunately, you or Yahoo! cannot delete anything that has ended up in Google and/or other websites so you need to be very careful what you post in Y!A as you never know where it might end up. Q & A can be poached from the Y!A Main Board by other websites.

In general, once a question has been resolved or has gone to voting, it will not be removed unless it is reported as a violation by other users and deleted. However, if a question contained personally-identifying information (the asker's REAL name, address, phone number, email address), the Y!A Team *might* remove it if you contact them via email:

    y_answrs_team@yahoo.com

Unless your question(s) contained such information, don't bother ... the Y!A Team doesn't grant favors to or respond to emails from users who complain about petty matters or problems which could have been avoided if the user had ever bothered to read and understand the rules of the site.

About the 'greyed out' questions ... those are permanent. They only appear to you, but they will still appear in your activity.

Just locate the question in your yahoo profile and hit the edit button. An option will come up that says delete question. I've done this before so I know.
