I worked at Captain D's, first. Then I had a job at a large kennel and cattery. I got to take care of dogs, cats, horses, chickens, ducks and pigeons. That was the best job ever. All the animals were happy to see me because I let them run loose and fed them. But my favorite was when I went to refill the duck pool. They would all run up to me quacking and shaking their tail feathers. There's nothing more fun than a happy duck. Those were jobs I had during high school. And then I had a job at an answering service. That job wasnt much fun because everyone gossiped about each other and people that called could be really mean and rude sometimes. And then I also worked as a hostess at a bar and steakhouse. That was interesting because almost all the staff was hammered on drugs or drinking alcohol at work. Like lots of alcohol. And our boss smoked meth so he was always bug-eyed and hyper and sweating but totally useless. And he made a rule where you couldn't have a break unless you smoked. And I had just quit smoking. I actually had to buy cigarettes and smoke a little just to get a break. Because if he caught you NOT smoking he would fire you. Those were the jobs I had in college. I learned lots of patience and how to handle tough situations with people. And I learned what makes ducks happy.

In college internships, in high school just part time jobs in the summer. Fast food joints, random stores in malls, etc.

good question. internships are definitely good to have during high school nd early college years to tack onto your resume or get an actual job out of it afterwards. i've done both, mass applied to typical dept stores online and through connections and friends.

i've also volunteered with community groups for environmental stuff and advocacy, also something to put on a resume. make sure you do something productive and fun too, keep away from laziness and stupidity.
