Why Japanese claimed RyuKyu Island(Okinawa) belong to them?
Basically "Ryukyu" Islands is the so called "Okinawa" by the Japanese today. It was once Ryukyu Kingdom, and It seek for protection from Empire of China to defeat Japanese islanders for a long time long before the 1600s, Because they fear for the Japanese islanders might invade them somehow. During the Japanese invasions between 1600s-1900s, The island was never officially occupied and claimed by Japan. Somehow, After WWII Ryukyu was "Returned" to Japan by the U.S without authority... So I guess here is a big question mark. What makes the Japanese think They own the island today? Did they officially sign any agreement with the Emperor of Ryukyu kingdom back then? Why Japan has to think they are the victims and denying all the War crime they committed in WWII? why Japan thinks they deserve everything?
Oh and funny thing, I posted this question on Yahoo was told by a Japanese that I shouldn't question about Japan, I'm making big deal about it... Oh well, probably Japanese are trained not to be questioning about their government, as you can see they are a very cold nation, but I ain't Japanese, I can question about who I want as mush as I wish! This is the whole point of being in a liberal society and NOT in Japan!
If the Japanese claim wherever they once occupied, So can Europe, they can claim any land they once occupied since the middle age!
Ryukyu empire was never afraid of Chinese was going to take over Ryukyu, in fact they were seeking for help and support from Chinese, because they were afraid of Japanese was going to invade them! This is the part of historical confusion, because during 15-17century, China was in its own crisis, they were neither interested in nor capable of expand their territory across the sea! They were too occupied by War on the main land.

I'm kind of uniquely placed to answer this question as I was born on Okinawa back when it was administered by the US Army. I lived there for quite a while, and got to know some of the history of the Island.
As you say, Okinawa was taken over by the Japanese somewhere back in the 16 - 1700 hundreds, the exact dates being somewhat obscure. It was not a military invasion, there was no battle fought, as the Okinawans at that time were an agrarian society without an army. They were quite concerned that the Chinese were going to take the island by force, and invited the Japanese in instead.
The island was brought into the Japanese culture, and many of the island consider themselves Japanese. There are many stories of segregation dating back to the early years of the assimilation, but the Okinawans were never considered a conquered people, the way the Koreans, Chinese or other people who saw their countries crushed under the heel of the Japanese armies of the 1940's were.
As to why the Islands were "given" to Japan, it was not quite the way you described it.
Strategically, the island is a very important piece of land, an unsinkable aircraft carrier controlling the area between Japan and the Philippines. It has been a major military installation for the USA since WWII, and is a base for large Army, Marine, and Air Force units.
Given it's military importance, the US administered the island as a protectorate after WWII.
The island itself is only 70 miles long and 20 miles wide at it's widest point. The northern half of the island is very rugged, and the few villages there are on the coast. The southern half is more open, and there is no "undeveloped" land. There are military bases, airfields, housing areas, warehouses and administrative facilities all over the island, and any other open area is either farmland or houses owned by the Okinawans.
The Battle for Okinawa was the largest and longest battle of the Pacific campaign. By the time the battle was over, there was not a tree, an intact building, a barn, left standing. American casualties were over 62,000 killed or wounded. Japanese casualties were over 125,0000. Estimates of civilian casualties range between 100,000 and 200,000.
As the islands native population recovered from the war the cost of providing all the governmental services to the population grew in proportion.
As the population grew, he island could no longer grow all the food it needed. But the major industry (and only source of revenue) on the island was providing services to the US bases and their personnel. In a period where the Vietnam War was straining military this became a cost that needed to be trimmed. And it could not come from the local population was too small a tax base to provide all the funding
In the end, the money had to come from somewhere.
Various referendums were held, and it was decided by the majority of the islanders to accept the Japanese Governments offer and return to being an official prefecture of Japan. They would become full Japanese citizens (they were not at the time) and the Japanese government would assume control of the civilian government.
I would imagine that there are still some people on Okinawa who would rather not be citizens of Japan. Old memories die hard, and not all Okinawans have fond family memories of "the old days".
But it's really water under the bridge, as it is way too late to try and change things now.

because of the fact after truly some Ryukyu human beings have been killed by using eastern in ww2 and US military save them and take over the government. Ryukyu king fled to roc. And U.S. president desire ryukyu belongs to roc. however the president of roc jiangjieshi refused two times!! And in the chilly conflict percentturn into against US and roc fled to Taiwan because of the fact of civil conflict. So US gave Ryukyu to Japan in Seventies. in the historical past Ryukyu grow to be a self sustaining usa. yet Japan occupy ryukyu after business revolution. Ryukyu human beings had their own way of existence and language. And the type of existence grow to be inspired by using China a lot, you could bypass to Ryukyu and notice the China type construction and pictures of their museum. They have been tension to speak eastern and learn edited Japan historical past. Japan don't have the sovereignty of Ryukyu and the senator of Ryukyu now's a separatist. Ryukyu human beings and eastern are in distinctive ethnic communities and Ryukyu persons are discriminated in Japan now.
