Jetta 2011 and 2012 (gas, not diesel) experiences.?

Am in the market for a used 2011 or 2012 Jetta. Would appreciate some info from actual drivers of these two model years. Good or bad. State model, engine size, mileage on car, any problems, good points, etc.

OWNERS only , please. Here's your chance to vent or brag....

2012 Jetta Highline(SEL Premium) 2.5. I live in Canada so the top of the line trim is called Highline, not SEL. It has 20,000 miles, 2.5 litres, and has had no issues. I love my car, its quick, sounds great, gets decent fuel mileage(34mpg combined). I have driven it in winter and it starts up perfectly fine. I have had deer run out in front of me and the cars braking was phenomenal.

Some Jettas come out of the factory being lemons. You'll know one when you drive one. I have also drowned my Jetta in a river :( It was about 1.5 feet deep and I wasnt paying attention. It hit the river and water didnt come into the cabin for the first five minutes! The water was up to the top of the tires and the cars electrical system was still working. The engine died though. I stayed in the car and called my neighbor and he pulled me out. Thank God the river was slow and not swiftly flowing. When we dragged the car out, I opened the door to let the little bit of water out and the motor started up after the 2nd try! I checked it out with a mechanic and all he did to it was replace the air filter!

Awesome car! Would never abandon my car.

with the help of way of own shoppers who own new TDI's... in case you bypass sixty 5 - 70 MPH, cruise administration it, you will get everywhere from 35 city / 40 six highway. in case you force the common eighty - ninety MPH, you will get closer to the window decal of 30 city / 40 two highway. as quickly as the engine breaks in at approximately 100k miles, i've got had shoppers tell me they have accomplished fifty 4 MPG on the line. So... this is a 14.5 gallon tank. 14.5 x 40 two = 609 Miles on an entire tank. driving at 70 MPH... 609 / 70 = 8.7 hours. 14.5 x 40 six = 667 Miles on an entire tank. driving at 70 MPH... 667 / 70 = 9.fifty 3 hours. If i'm not flawed, the 2012 ought to even upload some gallon(s) to the gas milage. i'm not too particular nevertheless, they only arrived on my lot the different day. :) solid success!
