Eventually, they will get a new owner, and then presumably they will actually try to win. Since they have won the World Series twice before when they were actually trying to win games, there's no reason they can't do it again someday.

I am convinced that the Marlins need an ownership and management change. Over the past several years the team has traded away a group of all-star players because of money issues. The Marlins could be an elite team today if ownership would have only continued to build their team and put a winner on the field for their fans. When ownership is not committed to winning the probability is that they will be a sub .500 team, which is exactly what they have created for themselves.

Since winning the World Series in 2003, the Marlins have actually had winning records four times (2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009) while finishing fifth just three times.
Last season was literally their worst season so far this millenium.

They need to have a new ownership and a management team that is focused on winning and not one that is only interested in screwing the fans and the local taxpayers. They also need to get rid of that thing, whatever it is, in the outfield.

Again can mean a long long time. But no. They possibly have the worst owner in baseball.
