Why does my cat make me feel better about life than god does?

My cat really loves me unconditionally, where as God is a selfish, temperamental creation of social need... and my cat uses the litter box

Because the cat is a physical object that you love and that physically responds to you. You can stroke the cat, have it purr, and show appreciation and love. God does not respond to stroking (although religions think they stroke God to gain favoritism's). God does not purr either, but may boom into your life in a lot bigger ways then Tigger does...you just have to be smart enough to know that when the boom happens, it is God speaking, instead of the storm. I am not being frivolous here, I am being quite sincere when I say that a cat brings you more immediate pleasure because the cat is "real" to you in its physical sense while it s much harder trying to visualize God in a physical sense - unless you are like me - I see God everywhere all the time being all things, all forms. I do not expect a tree to purr or a lake to talk back to me.

The problem is trying to visualize and make, God, like a human being - with a mouth, eyes and face. If God were simply just another man or woman, how God-like is that? From the moment God is just but one person, that translates into everyone's mind as, God cannot be anyone else - that is the problem, you see - forever more, if you saw God as a person, a man or woman, you would forever after, be looking for just that one person.

When, God in fact, can be ANY person or ALL PERSONS...and all mountains, stars, lakes, stars in the sky, worlds unseen and seen, space and time itself...

You see, I prefer to view God as limitless rather then limited. If I allow God to be limitless in reality, then God is not anything in particular and at the same time is all things. What I mean by this is - yes, God is the old man sitting in the park playing chess with another old man, but then, God is also the chess board and the pieces and the park bench the old man is sitting on, the squirrels, the trees, the grass - the sky over head...etc.

This is a lot more then most people are willing to allow God to be in life. Instead, most people have this faint notion that God is some old man with a flowing white beard, fierce piercing eyes, sorta muscular....wears a big golden robe {AND} God cannot be anything else but this pre-conceived notion.

So to make it simple, it isn't easy for God as God is, in reality, to give you the same simple pleasure as the cat. That is why God GAVE YOU the cat. Did you stop to think of that one?

When the cat purrs, sits on your lap, flicks its tail, meows affectionately, rubs up against you - that is God speaking to you, through the cat. That is the exact point I wish to make to you right now. You see the cat as a cat and I see the cat as a vehicle for God to express God's love for you AS the cat.

I hope you think about that one and come to a new conclusion for yourself.

"and my cat uses the litter box"

Why does god poop on the floor? Sorry, I just didn't see why that part was in there......lol

But I love cats, I have two. Of course one is very friendly and typically follows me everywhere, but the other is mean and antisocial. She'll claw at you if you try to pet or hold her most the time.

Maybe because of your opinion that God is selfish, temperamental, and a creation of social need. Compare that to a fluffy ball of fur that makes soothing noises and that's probably why.

If you had a different opinion of God, then perhaps you'd get different forms of comfort from him/her/it/they.

Cats are the gods of sleep. I like sleep; therefore I like cats.

Your cat makes you feel better about life because cats are awesome. So are dogs. What type of kitty is it?!

    Source(s): I own 4 cats and 7 dogs

Because your cat is real. God is not.

The fact that your cat exists probably helps...

Are you talking of God, or what some preacher man is telling you what God accepts or doesn't accept?

Because your cat is not a fictional creature

Your cat is real while all gods are myths.
