Psalm 83 is an End Time prayer of natural Israel when their Arab neighbors en-mass attack them. This is the next prophetic happening on the horizon--which is set all the others in motion.

"Thy people" are the Jews in Israel in general

"The Hidden ones" are the Holy Remnant.

There is a Holy Remnant within Israel that will be spared Jacob's Trouble. Isa. 4:3 tells us that, and other scriptures talk about Jacob's Trouble and how the tents of Judah will be spared first, but not until they have looked up on him whom they have pierced and mourned for him as an only son. That is once this Holy Remnant recognize that Jesus was truly the Messiah and own up to their part in the guilt as they hate him as much as their forefathers did, then God will save them. The Mount of Olives will cleave and provide an escape route for them from the forces of Gog.

There are a ton of scriptures describing Jacob's Trouble and since we see that it is the Holy Remnant that is saved, that gives us the clue to as who are the "hidden ones".

Then the Kingdom can begin and the Law can come from Zion (the Church--Spiritual Israel) and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem (through the Ancients--Heb. 11--the Fathers who become sons of the Second Adam and are made princes in all the earth--Psalm 149)

Scriptures that talk about those being saved from Jacob's Trouble are:

Isa 4:3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Jer 30:11 For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

Jer 30:18 Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

Zec 12:7-14 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. (8) In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. (9) And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. (10) And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. (11) In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. (12) And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; (13) The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart; (14) All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

Zec 14:3-5 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. (4) And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. (5) And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

  • My belief is that it refers to the Israelites that were in hiding because the persecutions of the Occupiers of that time was fierce. So, naturally, A lot of the Israelites went underground or hid so they would not be killed. Much like Christians in Countries today where the Faith of God is a punishable offense.

    Other versions translate as follows:

3 Against thy people, they craftily devise a secret plot, And conspire against thy treasured ones.

3 They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints

3 Against your people they deal treacherously in design, and consult against your holy ones.

Applying the scriptures to the fulfillment upon Christians, this refers to the Saints, the little flock - Jesus promised the kingdom to. They are indeed 'hidden ones' for as we read in Matthew, Jesus shall tell many one of two things '35 For I was hungry and you gave me food . . .as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ AND, 'For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, . . .Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

The above tells us that these Elect, Chosen ones, Saints, are generally hidden and unknown ones. There is a church, or perhaps more than one, that claims to know by number who is a saint. Yet, Jesus tells us that they are hidden ones generally unknown and ignored among all the believers in the world.
