Any recommendations for an inexpensive compost bin to use as a door prize for a gardening program?
My library is sponsoring a Master Gardener program in July on composting. We would like to offer a small but inexpensive compost bin as an incentive/door prize for our audience. May I have some recommendations? We don't want to spend over $50.

Anything inexpensive is going to be kind of ugly to give as a prize. How about a nice square bin with a cover and a few starter worms, or a good book on composting instead?

You can build one out of wood and chicken wire. Otherwise check out prices on line, at your local stores that sell composters. I just bury the vegetable material in the ground around my perennials and let it compost naturally.
I did have a certain area where I buried the material, and after a few years, I used it in my gardens. But it usually goes out faster than it becomes viable soil here in New England so now I just bury the material near the berry bushes and other plants.
