Best way to glue two pieces of plastic together?
I have two plastic pieces, both are smooth and flat, that I want to permanently glue together. I tried using superglue, I let it sit for over 24 hours, but it came right apart with the slightest pressure. Any tips? Should I use rubber cement? Should I sand the surfaces to make them rough first?

Much depends on what the plastics are, the sizes and positions of each, whether they have to take any strain or pressure and so forth.
Yes, sanding them would probably help, to give the adhesive "tooth". Hot glue might work, depending on many factors. It's main advantage is that if is DOESN'T work, you can peel it off and try something else. Epoxy is probably what you need, but you'd really only have one shot at it.
Superglue is useless for most purposes. Rubber cement isn't permanent enough. White glue would not work for non-porous surfaces.
