How do I create a new relationship with god?

Until I was around 13, I was a strong believer in god ( im baptised a catholic) and I liked going to church , but as I got older I guess my views changed due to my mind being opened so much more to the real world and so I questioned my faith so mic that I basically became atheist

I'm now 20 and feel that it's too late to try and regain a relationship with god and that he will think that I'm only praying to him so that I benefit from it, but I don't mean it that way

Is just talking to him each night a good way to start? I just want guidance to help me become a better person and to have a close an individual relationship with god

Imagine it exists and talk to it.

God will only ever exist in imagination

Why do you need it to be a better person?

Why not just get real and start you like yourself and trust yourself to be good for the sake of it, not for some childish heaven reward fantasy

It is not to late. Yes please pray and asked God to direct your steps and read his word daily.

Psalm 145:18 God is near to all those calling upon him, To all those who call upon him in trueness.

Isaiah 55:6 Search for Jehovah, YOU people, while he may be found. Call to him while he proves to be near.

Another reason to pray is that regularly praying to God is a way to strengthen our relationship with him. True friends do not communicate only when they need something. Rather, good friends are interested in each other, and their friendship becomes stronger as they freely express their thoughts, concerns, and feelings. In some respects, the situation is similar when it comes to our relationship with Jehovah God. With the help of this book, you have learned much about what the Bible teaches regarding God, his personality, and his purposes. You have come to know him as a real person. Prayer gives you the opportunity to express your thoughts and innermost feelings to your heavenly Father. As you do, you draw closer to Jehovah.—James 4:8.

“Jehovah is near to all those calling upon him, . . . and their cry for help he will hear, and he will save them.”—Ps. 145:18, 19. When someone errs and sins, as do all imperfect humans, he can, when he finds that he has done so, appeal to God for forgiveness and cleansing, thereby preserving that right standing. The apostle John wrote about this: “If we make the statement: ‘We have no sin,’ we are misleading ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous so as to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”—1 John 1:8, 9.

“Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.”—James 4:8

In orther to have a close relationship with God you need to acquire knowledge of him and his Son (John 17:3) through the Bible. You need to read his Word daily, meditate on what you read and find ways into apply it in your life. You can pray Jehovah God for guidence and for the help of the holy spirit so it can help you to find the truth.

    The way

Forget the Catholic antiChrist religion, to start.

    It is quite simple, really.

Read the Holy Bible, praying the Holy Spirit guides you.

    That's it!

You'll be amazed at what God will do for you when you accept Him into your life.

    Thank Him always!

Talking to him is the BEST way to start! Why limit it to each night? He's all ears 24/7, whenever you need him! Tell him anything and everything you feel, because he cares! He loves you so much and wants nothing more than a relationship with you too!!! Surround yourself with positive God-loving people who will support you in this! Read the bible once in a while too for starters! (I know its hard to even THINK about picking up a bible, but its really so encouraging and stocked with guidance you need!)

I wish you the best of luck, just know God will never leave you!!! Its hard following God, but its so worth it!

    God bless! <3

Hi Jessica, I admire your honesty.

This verse may be particularly comforting to you: "For I myself well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, is the utterance of Jehovah, thoughts of peace and not of calamity, to give you a future and a hope. And you will certainly call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." -Jeremiah 29:11,12

You are one the right track. Keep praying to Our loving father, Jehovah, addressing him by name.

Yes, talking to Him is a good start.

Also, reading the bible daily will help tremendously.

    Do not give up.

"For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: “Here I am, I myself, and I will search for my sheep and care for them." (Ezekiel 34:11)

Bring your heart, soul and emotions to God, acknowledge that you have failed to be what He wants you to be, and accept His forgiving grace, walk away being a new person in Christ, a disciple, of the one who lives within you, God bless.

Two things' to do to make yourself right. (1) Stop praying to Jesus. It not only breaks' the first commandment but Jesus never said pray to me or in my name. He said Our Father not our me. (2) Google Howard Storm and read his story. First read invitation to hell then read rescue from hell. Problem solved. Back with God.

yes that's a good start - its pretty much all you have to do - that's what God wants - He just wants you to know He is our father in heaven and we trust Him and commune with Him

    it really is that simple
