What are the factors that interest tourist to go to China?

People travel to China as tourists for a variety of reasons. Probably most tourists travel because of curiosity and they want to experience the culture first hand.

My father was in the US Army Air Force during WWII, his group was stationed in several locations in China during the course of the war... obviously, he wasn't a tourist, but I was curious about China from his stories and wanted to visit the places where he was.

A brief history of China? More than 5,000 years of history encapsulated in a couple of paragraphs? Surely you jest, my dear. Besides, WHICH version do you seek... ? There are a lot of different things that constitute China's history... politics, culture, societies, the arts, inventions, wars, disasters, etc.

For some tourist it is because they have never been there before. After their first trip each tourist has their own personal reasons, some for the history, some for the arts, some just personal. My first trip was because I had never been there and might not have the chance again (I am a survivor and was in recovery) my next trip was personal to visit people I met the first trip again. After that all my trips were to visit friends and soon to be family.
