What do you think of the Nets Potential Lineup?
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--nets-pursuing-tr...
PG - Deron Williams
SG - Joe Johnson
SF - Paul Pierce
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Brook Lopez
@Warren good eye - Brook Lopez is a much better offensive Center than Hibbert. And Hibbert averaged the easiest 22PPG of his career against the Heat.

Good Question
I think that line-up would be able to get to the championship. I know this sounds big but if you look at the players and their potential then you would understand why. Everybody thinks that the Heat is the main force in the East which is correct but with that line-up, the paint will beat the Heat because if how good Looez and Garnett is. They can both shoot and make shots under the basket and they can defend well. Then they have an all around scorer in their two guards and Paul Pierce. Their back court can also play defense and Deron Williams is a top 10 point guard. The match-ups between Nets and Hear would be interesting but I think they would be able to edge the Heat in a series.

That Mikhail Prokhorov is one rich motha ******! The NBA would love him if this deal actually went through. I mean the amount of luxury tax the NBA would get... DAMN. No more lockouts LOL. No but really though on paper that looks great! For 1 year... Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are likely going to retire next year or the year afterwards, meaning this is a 1 off. I can't see them getting that much team chemistry with only 1 year to prepare, with the amount of egos on that team. Williams vs Coaches. Johnson vs Consistency. Pierce vs Lack of team effort. Garnett vs Officials. Lopez vs the fact that he's the whitest player in the NBA. They still won't beat the Heat or beat the Pacers for that matter because it takes more then a bunch of good players to win an NBA Championship. Maybe this team would work out in the Olympics, but for sure it won't in the NBA.

It's terrific. It's 5 current or past all stars who I think could play well together. If Garnett waives his no trade, it's because he wants to really go there, as opposed to being forced. But I still wouldn't put them as favorites to come out of the East.

Why would you give up multiple first round picks, Gerald Wallace and Humphries for two aging players who are WAY past their prime?
