Yes, children loathe authority because they think they know everything.

First of all, it is impossible for a sane person to dislike something that doesn't exist.

Atheists are not all alike. I am unique unto myself.

I don't like authority figures. I like to think for myself.

I am a pacifist. I am a powerful god-like being. I don't need police or the military and my father has been dead for about 20 years now.

The military? Yes, I do dislike the military, intensely. They're killers, who make the owners of this country richer, by murdering people.

The police? No. For the most part (though there are some bad apples), they keep us safe.

And my father? Yes, I also dislike him. Not because he was an authoritarian figure in my life, but because he traded the life he had with Mom and us kids, for crystal meth.

Well, I certainly dislike people who abuse their power and generally distrust arbitrary authority, but that has nothing to do with why I'm an atheist.

I'm still waiting for genuine evidence of god's objective existence and intellectual integrity prevents me from hypocritically pretending subjective mental experience is real.

  • No. And God is not an authority figure because he does nothing.

    God is om-impotent.

The authority figures, who are disliked, are the religious leaders.

Atheism is only about not believing in the reality of hypothetical deities.

It has nothing to do with real authority figures

    or with authority, in general.

Why the hell would being an Atheist mean we hate the police, military, or our fathers. This is just beyond stupid.

We do not necessarily hate God, we jsut don't believe in him.

I respect all authority figures that exist ;)

Not at all. Most atheists don't even dislike the idea of a deity. All that the the term 'atheist' defines is someone who doesn't believe in a deity.

Boring stereotypes. Obviously atheists don't all think alike.

No, but we understand that believers have a strong need to make up lies about us.
