If two people are involved with the same crime, will they have court together?

I'm not asking about murder or something. I'm asking about a misdemeanor. If Jack and John are underage and go to a party and are caught drinking together, will their court dates for conviction be the same?

I hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance xx

They won't necessarily have court at the same time; however the charges they incur will be filed as a single case. The two will be co-defendants and their charges can be for the exact same crimes or even different crimes from the same incident.

If a crime is committed by a group, the cases are often tried together, because most of the evidence would work for or against all members of the group. In your example, they would probably be tried separately.

No, they'll have different times and dates. Maybe same day but different times.

but it may vary in some states.

But here in KY. Its never the two same people at a time.
