Lions fans; Stafford extended; thoughts?
5 years, $76.5 million with a $27 million signing bonus.
This is great IMO. It is exactly where I think his price range should be, gives Mayhew more stability and the ability to re-sign Pettigrew or extend Suh next off-season or sign a good player or two in free agency.

Hopefully he will eat healthy, exercise by doing weight lifting, and either, jogging or going for a long run everyday... He should also invest in some Addidas AdiZero 5 Star cleats as well...

The price range seems about right. He's a very talented QB but hasn't accomplished that much. He has a career completion ration of under 60% and with the exception of 2011, his TD-INT ratio is fair, at best.
He was given the extension so the Lions could clear cap space, mainly, not because they were so in love with him as a player.

They better hold onto him, the Lions downfall has always been lack of a decent QB. They had probably the greatest RB of all time in Barry Sanders and never gave him a good QB to keep the defense thinking pass. With Stafford, Johnson and Bush, could be good things to come.

hahahah Pettigrew, Lions will focus 100 % on SUH next year, even if pettidrop has a good year, you could always find good TE in the draft ...

Actually, it depends on his work ethic during every offseason. If Matthew Stafford works hard and performs very well in practice every day, he will greatly improve his chances of becoming an elite NFL quarterback for the Detroit Lions in the future.

I think it's a good move, he has lots of talent. Now all he has to do is preform.
