Is Nimbit a legitimate site?

I can confirm that Nimbit is absolutely a legitimate site and I can also explain where some of what you heard came from. I've worked for the company and before that I was a customer who earned money from the service. Nimbit is now part of much larger company, who I am sure you have heard of called PreSonus and our mission is to help musicians.

In the past, some confusion from sales like you described came from the fact that Nimbit would submit music for you to places like iTunes. Customers sometimes would check this by making a purchase on the iTunes, and not see the sale immediately in their Nimbit account. It sometimes take months for online retailers to report and payout for these sales, and Nimbit couldn't report or pay you until that happened. Nimbit no longer submits music for you to online retail sites, but this services is still available through our partnership with DittoMusic

Another situation where you might hear about this is in the instance where people have tried to use the Nimbit service fraudulently with stolen credit cards and the credit card company had denied the charge.

We recently switched to a DirectPay model. Now, once your account is set up you will get paid almost instantly for a sale, directly into your paypal account. Nimbit will take our small commission and you will receive the rest of the money.
