Why is a tan considered attractive?

It isn't in a place like India. I knew a priest who worked over there, and he said they have HUGE beautiful beaches which are empty because people in India don't have the tradition of getting a tan. Tan for them means "lower cast".

Maybe it's just that it's opposite in European countries where a tan means you have the free time to be laying out in the sun doing nothing.

But yes - it's really hard on your skin.

Its considered good looking if you get a nice safe tan or if your tan comes from tanning sprays or cream. Its bad for your skin to spend a lot if time in the sun-that can cause wrinkles and many other things wirse like cancer. Tan skin is really gorgeous but only if it isnt crispy looking and leathery. Tan isnt damaged skin its just a color. Some people are born with tan skin so you are basically saying that tan newborns have damaged skin which is not true.

I have wondered the same thing. I mean, I like how a tan looks. But is that just because I was raised to think tan skin is good?

My 11 year old rarely wants a tan. She doesn't see much sense in purposely going out to damage yourself.

Probably because being bronzed and having a natural glow is considered healthy. It's okay if you're a little bronzed but if you go Jordan Price colour then you better stop

Tan skin is slimming and it also gives you a glow. Being tan makes it look like you're active and in shape because you spend time outside in the sun. Idk I'm pale AF

A slightly darker shade of peach is aesthetically pleasing.
