Rear Cylinder on an 02 Honda Shadow VLX isn't firing?
Changed the pulse generators, new plugs, new wires, swapped coil packs from front to rear, ran a compression test and the cylinder is still not right. The front cylinder is going good. The only thing I can think of is the CDI malfunctioning but that doesn't even seem possible given the symptoms. Anyone got any idea's?

It is very possible that the CDI is bad.I had a friend that lost the firing to the rear cylinder and I checked everything and it turned out that the CDI was bad for the rear cylinder. After checking all wiring and other parts of the firing system and found all to be fine I plugged the CDI from my bike onto his and it tan fine.Sometimes you can have then repaired but only if it is the top half of the CDI, the bottom half is built by Honda and they keep it a secret of the components.

There is a crank or cam position sensor that is not functioning or out of alignment. (I assume when you mean NOT FIRE you mean NO SPARK). If you are getting spark and it is still not running the other answer is correct.
Do a search at Hondashadow.net - they have tons of info on shadows (I used to be a moderator and recall this as a problem- just never had to tackle the job myself).
