Do college professors care where you sit in class?

So I am starting college soon and I've heard that the professors tend to like students that sit in the front better, is that true?

Just a note: The university I'm going to has a very low class average (something like 25 students per class) so it's not like the big Lecture halls. The back row really isn't that far back.

I know it mainly depends on you and how well you pay attention and your learning style but never the less does it truly matter?

Mine didn't even care if you were there or not but we had very large classes.

Yes, all college professors are exactly the same. I'm guessing you're doing an arts degree, something that doesn't require a lot of thought.
