I need advise on a beginners guitar?

Hi, I am looking into buying my first guitar and I don't know anything about them. I don't want anything to expensive, just encase I decide that it isn't for me (like under $100). If I were to buy a used one, what are some red flags that I should watch out for? What are some basic things I should be looking for? If someone could give me some advise on this that would be great. Thanks!

P.S. I'm ,5'9 and 19 yeas old so I'm not looking for a kids guitar. :)

It's much harder to but a guitar when you don't play because you don't really know what to look for. People have written entire books on this, but here's a great article that outlines enough basic knowledge for you to make a purchase like this. http://m.wikihow.com/Buy-Your-First-Guitar

Just make sure you're getting the full story with each guitar you try and you're not getting ripped off with some piece of crap that just looks nice. Ask about when the strings have last been changed and if it stays in tune. Just do some research and go prepared. And remember, you get what you pay for. :) Good luck. And P.S., stick with guitar. It's incredibly frustrating sometimes but definitely worth playing.
