Will I Be Able To Work For The Government?

I have a Class D Misdemeanor for Domestic Violence Reckless conduct. It was dropped from Domestic Violence Assault. Would I be able to go to college for a degree to work in the government? or would they not be allowed to take me because of my background?

I am just unsure what to go to college for now with this issue I had 3 years ago. by the time I get out of college obviously it would be longer since the accident. I could get it expunged but an attorney already told me not to hold my breath on that happening. I am just so frustrated.

Any advice? My majors I was looking into are Animal Science, Business Administration and Environmental Scientist.

Update:

thanks :)!! I just don't wish to spend money on a degree that won't be able to be used right.

that charge might effect your career if you wanted to work for the FBI, or be a lawyer.

But there should be no problem in the 3 areas you are concerned with.
