Why not register a title for all guns, like cars, but with a copy of a ballistics report for each gun?

Would you want to be prosecuted for a crime committed with your car after it's stolen, or your kitchen knife, or your computer.....that's just stupid.

Despots all through history made just such lists with which they illegally and "legally" confiscated legally owned firearms. Our own government has been proven to be corrupt and have no regard for law or the Constitution. Don't be ignorant.

If you are really a gun collector, you would probably know that ballistics change, they cannot be used to identify a particular gun over several years.

If you want BG checks, fine, with valid ID, but the govt. should NOT be keeping records of anything I legally buy or own.

The word you need is BEAR as in to carry. No one is running a campaign of lies, half-truths and propaganda to take your cars away from you. When it comes to firearms, there are only two reasons to register them, One is taxation, and the other is confiscation. Politicians don't seem to understand 'shall not be infringed.' The invaders go to the places where guns are sold and get the ATF 4473 forms, so they can easily confiscate the weapons. Look at New York for instance. You can register any type of vehicle you want, no fear of confiscation. Bring rifles with certain features into the state and try to register them and they will be confiscated as illegal to own firearms in NY.

I've heard the argument that "well you register your car with the state" before. So far no one has been able to point to a single instance where a vehcile has been confiscated from a law abiding citizen because it had certain features or capabilities

Gun Registry, the key to Nazi gun confiscation of their Jewish Victims that left how many dead? Not to mention it would cost hundreds of billions of dollars to maintain a gun registry. Ask Canada, since their politicians lied to their citizens claiming a their Gun registry would only cost $5M, but ended up costing over $500M and didn't do a thing to lower crime in the least. After 10 years, Canada repealed the Gun Registry as a High cost waist of tax dollars. The only thing it was good for was for police to know which guns to confiscate in the near vicinity of a crime, and after 10 years of that crap the confiscations only led to one arrest. So what issue are you trying to actually solve with gun registration?

When the Politicians finally decide to burn the Constitutions which both sides are heading that way, then they will know who has the guns and were they live so they can come and confiscate them.

At what point are you going to understand that the problem is people who are mentally unstable some how getting guns and shooting people in groups? the school shooting, the movie shooting the University of Virginia were all done by mentally ill people and you want to do all kinds of things avoiding the real problem.
