Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and the Yahoo Answers website is now in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

Do you hate the new format burying half or more of the categories under MORE>?

I like to answer in 6-8 difference categories and more than half of those are now accessible only by clicking on MORE, and in one case by doing it twice. And the list of subcategories with a dark background is hard to read.

Oh dear, guess that's coming to me too, though so far I still have the regular set of main categories from clicking on Browse Categories (and no "More" option).

Don't know if this will still work for you though:

Basically I just bookmark all the subcategory pages I usually visit (and put in my Bookmark Bar), then click on those bookmarks for most subcategories I visit.

When trying to suggest another category/subcategory to a questioner, or sometimes for other reasons though:

...I do use the larger list of categories (under drop-down for Browse Categories) .

...Or I just do a YahooAnswers search for the general topic to see which boards seem most used for that topic (then click on the board to get the link).

...Or sometimes I use ask-a-question option** to at least show me all the subcategories, which will end up showing this chart:

.....some of the subcategories have >arrows beside them too, to indicate they have sub-sub-categories.

Thought I used to have a list of all subcategories that someone had created, or maybe I did it, but can't find it now.

There is one YA person (Barkley Hound) who did the same thing. His list isn't available online, though someone said he'll send it if requested by email (won't have clickable links though, I'm assuming):

** > Ask (What Would You Like to Ask)

    > type in any title, and any short text for question

    > click on Browse Categories tab

    .
