How do add and subtract integres?

Can i have a short and simple answer plz

    the definition of subtraction is to add the opposite.

    this means, you can change subtract to add then follow the rules for addition.

    examples:

    5 - 2 = 5 + (-2) = +3

    -7 - (-4) = -7 + (+4) = -3

    just remember:

    to SUBTRACT

    is to ADD

    the OPPOSITE
